Subject: RE: Transtar Grain Haulers

We had a 1970 Transtar with a 8V-71 Detroit set at 290HP (3 1/2" exhaust instead of 4") with a 13 speed, 410 gears, 10.00x20 bias tires on spoke wheels, Hendrickson susp, 156" wb. Rode very rough. The gross weight back then was 73,280# so it did OK hauling grain. No air or PS but thought we were in high cotton at the time. The Transtar 2 seemed better and have prettier paint.
