We are thinking about putting up acoustic tile on the ceiling of a couple of rooms. We have a two story house and don't heat the upstairs. I had an idea of putting 4 x 8 sheets of foam insulation up first. I figured this would save a little heat and dampen the sound from upstairs some. Has anyone tried this and if so how did it work?
