Yosemite is a magnificent place to see. Consider staying in Lodi, CA. It's a nice almost Midwestern like farm town. Avoid Stockton, Sacramento, Modesto, and most other central valley cities.
Also a short drive to Lake Tahoe...another beautiful place and low crime area.
Quite a bit of area there but I dont know why someone would be afraid of modesto or sacramento I would avoid Ceres and where Ceres bleeds over into Modesto ie the Airport area and 132 area. But there isn't a reason why someone would need to go to the industrial old area unless you were on some kind of business trip where you need to go into that area.
Sacramento has a nice old town area with the CA railroad museum, food and trinket shops. |
