It is possible to combine with an auger head BUT after switching to a draper its SO MUCH NICER!!!!

Small wire is what I had in last year (first year with 8120)
I would try large wire as it does thresh easy.

IF YOU plan on chopping the straw be EXTREMELY CAREFUL. The straw will pack in around bearing and start a fire. Also have good seals on the rad housing.

Invest in a water fire extinguisher!!! It WILL save the combine some day (been there multiple times and always in rye)
