Subject: Case IH 9370 rear axle oil

I was going to change the rear axle/plantetary oil in our 9370 and noticed that there were two lines, one on each side, coming off the top of the axle housing then they tee together to a single line and it was difficult to follow that line but it looked like it went to a some kind of small block with a pair of wires going to it and then another line coming off that block to one of the solid steel lines coming out of the hydraulic filter. So, does the rear axle share oil with the hydraulic system somehow? If I drain the rear axle and let it set over the weekend or something, will it drain the entire hydraulic system?
