North East IL | get yourself a DOT number for sure. probably should have had one!! You might have to go through a "safety audit" in the next year, but its not a big deal. Ifta is easy to get.
I have apportioned plates, but if I need to go to a state that I don't have on my plate it takes approximately 15 minutes for a permit to run that state.
Don't know if you are a member of a trucking association down there, but if you are, theyd get you fixed up in no time.
