Looking at the thread below and seeing all of the folks who said they liked waffles but didn't want to make them because of the work I thought I would add my 2 cents.

We finally broke down and bought a new belgium waffle maker a couple years ago. It is a Waring. Not sure where we got it, but waffles are simple with it. Make your standard batter, it beeps when it's hot enough, pour in the batter, my wife likes to leave the lid open just a few seconds for it to start cooking, close the lid, flip it over, a few minutes later it beeps, go flip it back, open it up and you have a perfectly cooked waffle. Repeat.

I think for those with larger families they make one that cooks 2 at a time, but this one is fine for my wife and I.

It wasn't cheap, thinking about $40 but it has been worth every bit of that.

We have one also Ray . . . .simple and quick. Pappup mixes up the batter with the grand kids and dumps chocolate chips and fruits in after the batter is poured on the griddle. They love it a d I'm their favorite, for that brief time . . . lol
