Subject: Annuities vs mutual funds

Had a guy try to explain his annuities a bit annd SAYS

"my annuities are better than mutual funds because we can 'index' them and remove all risk of value loss. It returns a minimum of like 7.5% and principle is guarenteed. PLUS he says we ADD 10% to what you deposit with us. For instance for every $1000 you invest you get credit for $1,100.

I always heard annuities were front end loaded but I ask what that amounted to and he SAID they had no such fees.

Should say have had family with experience with this guy successfully for 7 to 10 years or so now. Seems to be a pretty square shooter. Monies invested like 7 years ago has grown by like 60% most of it tax free

I dont have any good questions for him so I am "HOPING" you good folks will give 'ME' an idea of good questions to ask???Concerns or pitfalls???

His opinion was mutual funds are risky and subject to downturns and loss of principle.
