the one that called me two days ago was a little slicker, pretty professional actually.  the gist of it," this is a robotic message, please stay on the line for a important message from the irs".   okie dokie.   " this message is to inform you that the irs is starting legal proceedings against you, and would appreciate a call to discuss this matter, call xxx-xxx-xxxx, extension xxx, case number xxxx-xxxxxxxxx".      i'm not kidding the case number was like 13-14 numbers.   thing that kinda set me back alittle was that they called a 6:30 am, don't get to many trash calls at that time, so I answered it without letting the answer machine screen it for me, hung up and about a half hour later they call back again, hung up again      called the tax guy just to be double sure the irs didn't change the way they do business, by mail.     scam all the way
