Northwest Mo | Do not use Field Milo. The newer dwarf forage sorgham is the way to go. Mine got 5-6 ft tall, was a mass of leaves, had maybe a 90 bu head and made 18 ton/acre of great quality siliage.. I have used corn siliage for years this is my first time with dwarf forage sorgham. Feeding- 2.4% dry matter intake plus some PROTEIN and ENERGY (corn) to balance ration. Using 2# Alf-Orch (2 or 3rd cutting) for something dry and supply a little protein. More than that will lower rate of gain. I aim for 2.1-2.2#/day as a growing ration.
