I did Geo this last fall and like it. Was looking at going air to air heat pump, but that didn't make much sense in my climate as they are only efficient to about 25-30 degrees. I did closed horizontal loops 12-14 feet deep in clay. I did 4 loops total 610 feet long a piece. We installed in august. I have back up electric heat which has never kicked on yet. Last month cost about 2.75 a day for heat, hot water and metering charge. I get reduced rate from Electric company for being electric only .053KWH. My house is older, non finished block basement. I did the horizontal loops over vertical for cost. Dug all the loops in for what it would have cost to do one vertical well.
