I need a router for a printer at the office. I have a router at home that I haven't been impressed with and was thinking about changing it out to the printer application. Home is mainly just ipad iphone laptop. I have a 2 meg wireless internet connection. The antenna is in an upstairs window and the router is up there also. I haven't been impressed with the speed on the main floor of the house so I was wondering if I could get something a little faster. I'm not sure what router I have now but it is a d-link and is several years old (maybe 5-7 yrs). I have taken my phone upstairs and can't tell that it's any faster so not sure what I need to do but am wondering if this older router is a bottleneck. I would appreciate any thoughts on a new router. I see dual and tri band models-what are these used for? What speed should I be looking at? Thanks for any advice.
