My MIL is currently living at AL.  She lives in a 2 room suite.  She has a bedroom, bath,   and a living room with a small kitchen and a table to eat at.   She currently pays   $3,070 per month.   When FIL  was living it cost  $645 for the second person.  For a grand total of  $3715.    She could get by for less if she did not have the   suite.  She can afford it and  we did not want to move her due to dementia after he passed away.      She does not use the kitchen at all.   Forgot how to cook 5 years ago.      This is in Monmouth, IL.     Costs will go up if she needs more assistance.   Current assistance includes:  2 baths per week,  laundry and medicine/prescription.     Since she has moved to AL  her physical health has gotten better.   The schedule really does help with the dementia.
