I use gadgets "network meter" sits in the upper right corner of the screen & can see data in and out. Also use "cpu monitor" which watches ram and cores. If one or both takeoff for no apparent reason mouse to lower left corner, right click, mouse click on task manager and see exactly what is consuming resources.
