I'll be putting my scales just before the chute, with a lift gate, or slide on either end of it. Run the cows ahead, weight one, then into chute and next one is standing behind it ready to move ahead into the scale/headgate once its empty..

thats my thoughts anyways, unless someone talks me out of it.

Sort of similar to this setup, but with more lead chute feeding the headgate, 3 or 4 cows worth from headgate to tub.

There's less smashing in that position, rather then once their neck is caught.
