Central South Dakota | If your disc is herniated get the surgery. I herniated L5-S1 twice. Second time was early spring in the heat of planting so I went the cortisone route to function. A shot would last me about 3 months, but by the time the cortisone was wearing off, I was back to popping a few pain pills. I had surgery in December of last year. Waiting caused me permanent numbness in part of my left leg and I will forever walk with a limp now. After back surgery, you have to think about trying to work smart every minute of the day while your at the farm. It's too easy to slip up and do something you shouldn't be doing. | |
