NW Central Ohio | I think you're right on the pH level. I just got to thinking the other day...about when we used to have such high pH readings from an upwind lime plant. We never started spreading lime until about 15 years ago....and I have some riverbottom soil that we've never spread lime on. The pH on it is still in the 6.8-7.0 range...but can't give you specifics on the magnesium/calcium relationship right now. We used to see damage from Metribuzin at half a pound..so would rarely use more than a third of a pound at a time. Today, I spray half a pound...and never see anything. No yellowing of the lower soybean leaves from splash or anything. Times change...soils change...it keeps you thinking all the time. | |
