Subject: Would You Buy Used Trimble Modules?

Sandy Hook, MB

Hello All

I'm thinking of adding a little more to my FM-1000 for next year (buying & building slowly as I can afford it) & using it as my planter monitor. I'll probably add section control someday too (Tru Count clutches). It looks to be an expensive proposition for my small farm, especially now with our Canadian $ taking a nose dive compared to the US $. I'm thinking about buying used to save a $. It seems like most are selling used for 65% of new. What is the reliability of the modules? How long can they be expected to work trouble free? Would it be wise to try & save 35% of new buying 2, 3, or more year old modules? Can they be repaired if they fail or are they made to be throw away? What's the warranty on new modules?
