Cherokee County, Northwest Iowa | When and where the next meeting is, so hopefully you can go a second time and some of it might sink in the second time. I agree with all the deer in the headlights look I saw coming out of the first meeting.
Two of my friends who are smarter than me are looking at it this way:
Friend #1: If you are very pessimistic about corn and bean prices the next 5 years, go for PLC. (i.e. corn < $3.70 and beans < $8.40). If not that pessimistic, go ARC-Co.
Friend # 2: Go ARC-Co-will get a check for 2014, because we are coming off the last 5 years worth of high corn prices. Deposit that check, and save some of it for down the road, because you might not get much later. (All this whole thing is an exercise to look into your crystal ball, which mine is kinda cloudy all of the time anyway). Bird in hand worth two in the bush theory.
