| Unless it's something specific to your DVD writing software, disc finalization does not affect the DVD content, it only adds a flag to the DVD so that no further writing is possible (a DVD or CD can be recorded over several sessions). So your video should be present and whole on the disc and you should be able to copy it on your computer's hard drive and record a new DVD or several. Just make sure the person who pulled the cable is over a mile away! ;)
If the computer tries to open and play the disc directly as you insert it into the player, cancel the operation and just open the disc in Windows Explorer (if using Windows), make a new folder on the hard drive and copy the disc's content there. You may need to change Windows Explorer settings to display the hidden and system files, as they may not copy if they are masked. (In Tools | Folder Options | View, depending on the version of Windows.) | |
