Subject: Re: wheat vs. corn as feed?

I have fed wheat instead of barley when the price of wheat here was around $2.20/bushel ($73/ton) (#2 soft white, no problems in terms of dockage, etc...) and barley was higher cost ($90/ton). This is the first year I'm feeding corn, because I could lock in corn at $184/ton and barley was nearly $300 at the same time.

FWIW, my math says: $6/bushel wheat = $199.98/ton. $6/bushel corn=$214.26/ton. I know there are other factors to consider in the ration balance too.
