The "AICPA" is THE professional organization in US for CPAs.

The new head of the Tax Committee of the AICPA has just issued some statements, one of which is his take on whether or not "tax extenders" will be renewed.

One of the tax extenders is the Section 179 increase to 500K, as it was for 2013, as compared to the existing law which is 25K.

SUPPOSEDLY..........this guy's comments would be based on what Congressional people are saying "behind closed doors".

Tax Extenders. Although far from certain, there is realistic hope that whatever tax law changes for 2014 might eventually be adopted that such will be passed sometime within this current lame duck session or shortly into early next year. The AICPA has been advocating early passage of this legislation and now is ready to relay information and support to our members in the event the legislation is passed.
