Subject: RE: Best crop after radishes

Jesup, IA
i had 1800 acres of Prevented Planting in 2013. Planted it all to tillage radishes in July 2013. Did nothing to the radishes going into winter. Hit some with a vertical till and planted corn in 2014, and others I no-tilled beans into them (no uneveness) Both crops did 110% of APH.

In 2011 I had a 35 acre field of wheat, which I planted to radishes. In 2012 I planted corn. It only did 7 bu better than corn on corn in the drought. I was a little disappointed.

Just for kicks I sent some radish "carcasses" into the lab. They are surprisingly rich in potassium. Mine were relatively richer in K than N.
