South Central North Dakota | Reading our Soybean council research update, there is a research project to develop "public" varieties of Glyphosate resistant soybeans.
They feel that if the original glyphosate patent has expired , the trait could be incorporated into" public" varieties so farmers could save their own seed as is the case of most cereal and some oilseed and pulse crops. Could this be a game changer? Are there any other states pursuing something similar? The goal is to have a glyphosate resistant variety available by 2017. |
