WC Indiana | You nailed it B&C. Fixe the drainage and it will go a long way to help panicum. If thatis not an option you need to hit it several times to control. I am going to 805 non-gmo corn and am also worried about late grasses. I am adding simazine (long lasting panicum control) to spring burndown program. I also add generic dual (parallel) to post corn application with impact and atrazine. Impact also has some grass activity. Between the Simazine, Dual, and Impact you are throwing a lot of grass activity at the problem. I had good luck with this combo this year except for a few giant rag areas in one field.
If it's a real wet area grass control will be difficult as the corn may not compete well (short stunted) leaving the ground bare. | |
