Mod valve is all mechanical. No electric switches. Don't much about high low switches. Just know that I don't like a thermostat kicking burner off and on and I don't like to manually control as it will be way too cool in the morning unless you adjust it through the night. Mod valves should be called sleep easy valves. We have ran 2 of them since 1987.
