A DB planter will work on beds, but you're kind of losing me on the 20 on 40 part. We run one on 76" beds. We have 3 rows per bed in beans, blank off the center row for corn and cotton.

I'd say you were in gumbo and it will water ok and he's in sand and it won't water but I guess on your cotton ground it's sand so do you do 76's" there too?
