Subject: RE: power shift

Washington, Kansas & Lincoln, Nebraska
I don't know the JD powershift at all! But most powershifts have a spot or two where more components change than at others. For instance, my Ford (NH) Genesis tractors shift a bit ruff going up from 9 to 10 and down from 8 to 7. It takes three different clutch packs to facilitate each ratio in my Ford transmission. In the shifts mentioned it changes all three of those simultaneously, thus the rougher shift. Some shifts only change one clutch, others two. The only ones that change all three are the ones I noted.
