Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | I've seen the peat ground here burn. Old lake bottom. Most of it has been farmed up enough it won't burn, but there are still a few spots of real peat lake bottom that will burn. We burn nearly all of our grain stubble fields, and have forever, but none of them ever have had an issue.
Think a year or two ago some guys farming peat ground had to flood a field that had standing grain in it to put the peat fire out. Made for some interesting stuck combines later on. | |
