West Central Illinois

Articcat, that looks like a Farm Fans dryer. I can't tell from the pic--is it a continuous flow? I have an older 350 auto batch that I pressed into service this fall since our corn seemed to hold its moisture longer than normal. We were lucky it dried to 24 in the field a month ago. I took it down to 18 in the dryer and finished with plain air in the bins. That gave us about 30% more bushels per hour compared to taking it all the way down to 15%. If harvest is later than normal up there, you might also find end users and terminals cutting their drying charges in order to get some corn.

Lots of folks have concentrated their attention on Illinois' high yields, but I think the real story is the extraordinary yields from states such as Missouri and Michigan. Enjoy your yields and have a safe harvest.
