Don - if you turn off the use of 135 and 138 you will probably see that the DOP numbers on the 500 compare with the planning software. The planning software is often used by the Survey Construction RTK users and they don't have the use of the WAAS satellites in the RTK position solution so the Planning software was not modified to use the WAAS satellites. The RTK users do have the choice of using the GLONASS Satellites and the Planning software does inclusd the GLONASS satellites. If you couild find a GLONASS satellite in the same location as the WAAS SVs for that exact time if you inclulded them in the solutin you should find the DOP wouild be the same, but that wouild not be very parctical to do on a daily basis. At lease the Planning software will give you an upper bound on the DOP. It is also important to use the same elevation masks when you are comparing the DOP between the 500 and the Planning Software. if the elevation masks are set differently you might find times when the 500 and planning software are using different satellites because one or the other is not using the same low elevation satellite(s).
