The problem with foam in a pit is that when you try to haul it, it will foam even more with agitation and pumping.

Unless you like to haul 1/2 loads that are full of foam it needs to be stopped. Hauling 1/2 full loads gets very expensive. The other option is running the foam over the side of the tank, the Iowa DNR frowns on this.

We've used a product from ADM called "Slick n Clean" to help with solids in a pull plug building. I definitely takes down the ammonia level in the building. Not sure if it would help with foam or not.
