Sorry. Didn't mean to offend. It's just that when you introduce two variables (instead of keeping to one), by allowing the ams strip to have another 30 units of n (even though you think conditions were such that it didn't make a difference), your difference in yield from the ams strip becomes meaningless. There's another poster, who apparently felt the need to weigh in after me, that is really good at providing unsubstantiated conjecture and suppositions. What I would like to see are some tests results that are meaningful. We have done test strips with and without 100 lbs of ams. However, we have been too lazy to get out of the tractor and dial back the n rate by 16 units,which would have allowed the results of our tests to be meaningful.
