fairviewfarmer - 10/1/2014 17:00 Thanks for the pix. I didn't know Case made a pull type combine. What size was it compared to their self-propelled combines? My Dad bought a 660 case combine new in 1969. it was Case's smallest self-propelled......the 660 had a 13 ft. grain platform and a 2 row corn head This 460 pull type would have been pretty well the same as your 660 self propelled internally. Biggest problem with this 460 was belt slippage on the main drive. Fine until a slug hit the cylinder and it would go from 1000 rpm to zero in a heartbeat. After I discovered spray on belt dressing that helped quite a bit but I bent a few crowbars unplugging that cylinder. |
