John McGillicuddy at the 2013 Wheat Summit at Wichita talked about the hard pan, If you can use a piece of equipment and brake it up, do it. You can pick your Day, your Depth, your Point, your Speed, and your Spacing. With Radishes, You hope they come up, grow big enough, and when they hit that hard layer they keep going down and not turn around and go back up.
