I'm totally making up numbers, but they are probably not out of line "here". There's already 12 cents of carry on the futures market, 330 Dec to 342 March. If you know that your local basis tends to improve 30 cents from gut slot harvest, you sell the deferred futures contract and wait to set basis for delivery until it looks good historically. Sometimes this scenario was the only gravy to be skimmed in the LDP era. |
