Even with good weather I'd say he'd be fine on the beans if they are spread out enough, you can't cut them with three combines if they aren't ready but throwing the rice in and with the year 2009 still fresh in my memory I'd be looking to rent another or hire a few neighbors once and a while.
Now that being said I did pick 2000 acres with a 4 row 9970 in 2001. I set in the seat for every row.
