Not sure if this is a question for you or not or someone else- why does CIH not allow equipment owners to install software updates to their own equipment? Why does the dealer have to do this?

In many cases, an update to the display also requires updates to other controllers, like the engine, transmission, armrest, hitch, etc. Updating only the display could make the entire system unusable. And those other components all require a special programming tool that is available only to dealers.
