Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana

ECIAROWCROPPER - 9/2/2014 12:41

36k lbs/ 56 lbs/bu = 642.86 bu <--- (you get paid for this many bushels)
36k lbs/ 60 lbs/bu = 600 bu <--- (when your corn by volume was only this many bushels)

The total weight of grain delivered was the same, but the higher test weight load of corn would get paid for an extra 42.86 bushels (even though it was less volume).

Well I guess it's that time of year again (LoL)

"The total weight of grain delivered was the same, but the higher test weight load of corn would get paid for an extra 42.86 bushels (even though it was less volume)".

That statement is WRONG!

If you deliver 36K lbs of corn,  the elevator is going to pay you for 642.857 bushels no matter what the test weight is.

You sell pounds per acre......TW only matters if it is light enough to get a dock.

Let the arguing begin (LoL)

EDIT:   I got to this post first......I guess the argument already started below!!!
