NW Iowa
Like any wear part, new pieces will be more aggressive. They can still work when faairly worn out but you lose the ability to work well thru tougher conditions.

If your rotor loss is from under-threshing in the front sections of the rotor, then yes it could assist in correcting that, but realize the condition of concaves is only one of several factors in the threshing process. Rasp bars of course are also obvious factors. Have you zeroed out and leveled the concave? You can try filler plates to hold material in the rotor longer, or interrupter bars to add more keystock edges to thresh against. If you're in coarse grains, using a small wire concave in the very front concave section can really help opening tougher soybean pods.

Rotor speed, concave clearance (readings for a zeroed out and leveled concave are better), style of rasp bar, specialty rotor vs regular rotor............
