Subject: RE: chopping corn

south central WI
Here's how I read it. The custom guy chops it and hauls it. The bagger is his friends neighbors, so the farmer is supplying the self propelled bagger, the custom guy is just chopping and unloading into the bagger. The farmer chops hay for his neighbor during the summer so he can use neighbors bagger for "free". He is still getting his silage chopped for $100/load. I don't hire mine done and I don't know what I can fit in my 26' wagons so I don't know if it is a good price or not.
A little very rough and quick math using loads in my bunker and tons I bunker tells me I must get 9-10 ton of corn silage in a 20' box. First year with 26' ones but in haylage they hold almost exactly 1.5x the amount so close to 15 ton. I don't fill mine completely up to the roof as my dad is afraid of snapping an axle or something.
