Central Kansas | I did a burndown on some wheat stubble (and weeds) about 3 weeks after harvest. Weeds took off like wildfire after the wheat was cut so I was a little late spraying. Used 1 1/2 oz of Sharpen, 40oz of Tomahawk, 24oz of 2-4D, 16oz of veg oil and AMS , applying 15 gallons per acre. Got a good initial burndown. Looked at it 3 weeks after and found some escapes soooooo, give them another spraying of the same recipe and today still see escapes. Planned on VT tillage right before wheat seeding in a month but am afraid that the weeds will take over....AGAIN! Thinking I had better hit it now and see what develops in a month. Whats your suggestion? Mainly have pig weeds that seem tolerate the chemical. | |
