Subject: RE: Distinct vs Banvel...questions...

Distinct contains two active ingredients; dicamba at .5lb/lb of product and diflufenzopyr at .2lb/lb of product.

Banvel contains 4lbs/gallon of product

the Distinct application rate is 4 to 8 dry oz per acre, so the Banvel equivalent would equal,

4 oz of Distinct / 16 oz / lb of product * .5lb of dicamba = .125lb of dicamba
8 oz of Distinct / 16 oz / lb of product * .5lb of dicamba = .250lb of dicamba

.125lb of dicamba / 4lbs/gallon of Banvel * 128 oz / gallon = 4 liquid oz of Banvel
.250lb of dicamba / 4lbs/gallon of Banvel * 128 oz / gallon = 8 liquid oz of Banvel

Long story short and I think the math is correct, 1 dry oz of Distinct will give you an equivalent amount of dicamba per 1 liquid oz of Banvel.
