Kansas | My solution to the problem was for a calf that has shown these signs and done this for over a period of several days.
There is a possibility your calf merely had an injury caused during birth that the soreness has gone away and now he can function somewhat normal.
I would guess that Dean will echo me on this but we were not insinuating within the first 24 hours. More along the line of after 3 to 4 days if no improvement, the ultimate final solution is put them out of thier misery.
After Dean mentioned the cleft pallet I too seem to recall that issue on a few like that. I'd be for checking that out first.
