Dallas Center IA 515-720-2463 | Too much data for one RE, so the effect of a incline on a auger in this one.
A auger at 25 degrees will carry about 90% of the same size at zero degrees.
At 35 degrees - about 85%
At 45 degrees - about 79%
And vertical - 47%
I would say most truck augers are at about 35 degrees.
So a 8" bin auger put out 2,210 bu hr and a 10" truck auger should handle 2,830 bu hr at full rpm.
I have one 8" unload. And a 8" truck auger. With the bin auger cut back a ways, the the truck auger
running as fast as that engine will go. - It works, but I don't like it.
Biggest reason is I don't like to run that engine on War Emergency Power and then shut it off with out a good cool down time. Now use a long 10" swing away.
Also have several bins still 6". And for awhile I had a 10" truck auger.
And I ran that auger with a 1000 rpm tractor - Dead idle and still way too fast. |
