nw MN | They might give prednisone to help with the reaction you are having. It will reduce the swelling in your lungs, help you breathe and hopefully allow some of the stuff to get coughed out. They might give you an inhaled steroid instead, same deal. The reaction you are having is an allergic one, but it can lead to a secondary infection. If it doesn't clear up in a couple days you may need antibiotics.
You will be way more sensitive now that you have had a bad reaction once.
