| The 444E may be a littler hotter... but the old ones I've seen with the 444 N/A engine... couldn't get out of their own damn way. Then again... a 360 gas couldn't either in my opinion. Personally I've just never liked the 444/7.3/power joke engine... I wouldn't have it in anything... and I think it's a good deal too light for much use in a single axle truck.
One of my most striking memories of the 7.3 N/A engine was in my neighbours s-line... I can remember hauling silage with them and I was running a tandem with a Cummins 350 formula... One trip I pulled into the field as he was pulling out and I was no more than 5 minutes behind him getting back to the silo after having to wait 10 min for the load... on a 3 mile run. He'd get to the top of the hill and start gearing up. I'd get to the top of the hill and start gearing down... so if you want a gutless wonder, the 444 is the ticket.
