The only issue you may run into is if the grass does not completely die this fall from the spray it may come back and pressure your new seeding so make sure you use 64 oz of glyphosate to kill the grass this fall. If possible mow it in early fall and let it regrow to 4 to 6" tall then spray it.

would even look at mowing and spraying it sooner now, and consider a 2nd spraying this fall or plowing and seeding yet in early fall if you get enough moisture to get it well established before frost.
