East Central South Dakota | Just built a shop. I would go Hydraulic on the gable end. If it is heated I would go with a electric overhead door as they raise and lower faster letting out less heat if it is to be opened every day, Overhead Door can go electric to 24 feet. Hydraulic door can be flush with the bottom of the truss so you loose no clearance on your door. Electric will need a header so you loose some door clearance. I would go 18 foot sidewalls and I agree with above posters on ice dams on eave side of building. Also I like a gable end door off- of- center for traffic flow and work space utilization. |
