Subject: Calves on grass questions

Southwest Iowa
I've got a 10 acre piece of grass that we don't do anything with. Have water available on it.

I used to background about 300 calves a year up until about 7 years ago but I never ran them on grass. They were always in my little feedlot. This 10 acre piece is too wet to farm and the grass is very good. Has some legumes mixed in too. I've been thinking of buying a few calves to run on this for the rest of the summer and summers to come.

Questions are what will they gain per day on grass supplementing some corn to them? How much corn mixed with some protein should I give them on a daily basis? And how many 400lbers could a guy get away with on just 10 whopping acres?? Would take them to around 700 or a little higher or until the grass runs out.

Any other advice for raising calves on grass would be appreciated
Edit- I know I should have bought them sooner but for some dang reason the thought never popped into my mind until yesterday when I drove past it and its just sitting there doing absolutely no good
